update problems

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

Windows update will uninstall all drivers that are not supported in 8.1. You'll have to get the 8.1 drivers for your hardware where the drivers was removed.

It will also uninstall some anti-virus if you don't support the detection of a Windows upgrade process. If it doesn't know the anti-virus or can't uninstall it, it will resume the install, and hope for the best (ie: it will end up with an error at some point, or a broken system, hence why Microsoft always recommends to uninstall ALL security software before the upgrade process)

So every time i update windows 8.1 it deletes the amd catalyst and screws up my monitor set up, anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it or whats causing it?

microsoft can die

Tell the developers that Microsoft has an entire documentation on how to do things right. Why isn't a problem with Nvidia, let alone Intel?

Same for the security software, why some have no problem, and others it's a pain in the neck?
