i have had a problem of games (modern warfare and fortnite mainly)crashing because of a directx 12 error. i have updated all of my driver and uninstalled and reinstalled both games. is there anything else i should try?

 

the error code from call of duty is 6068

specs:

i5 9600k

asus z390 prime

rog striks 2070

I don't play fortnite but I know that the game mainly works in dx11 and I've also heard from my friends that they released a new update and it's gotten really cpu bound and it's crashing all over the place 

 

But for modern warfare I recommend installing the latest bios and make sure you have dx12 downloaded

With a few exceptions, it's best to run things on DX11. For older games (2008-ish), I usually force DX9. You’ll get better performance that way.
