Integrated Graphics not compatible with new display panel?

Hi Community, 

 

So I recently wanted to upgrade my 768p TN panel on my Acer Aspire A515-51G to a 1080p IPS Panel (N156HCE-GN1). I have already installed the new panel on my laptop, however I am unable to boot into Windows as it black screens after the logo. Thinking it was the display driver, I booted into safe mode which boots fine, and installing the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and booting back into normal Windows works fine too. However as soon as I reinstall my Uhd 620 driver, the display black screens again. 

 

Could it be that the display is completely incompatible with the driver? 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Shouldn't be. Integrated graphic can display 4k just fine even, albeit not the 3D stuffs.

 

If safe mode works fine, then that's further proof the iGPU is working.  Something in that driver is probably an issue.  Run Windows Display driver, it's perfectly fine for just displaying Windows stuff.

 

Maybe try an older Uhd 620 driver as well.

It's possible that the "failsafe" resolution/refresh rate when no driver is installed are OK, but what the driver selects once installed is not supported by the panel.

Thanks, I'll try an older UHD 620 Driver later, however I do want it installed so I can adjust the brightness and have OpenGL etc.

Update on situation:

I have managed to install a generic Intel UHD Driver however 

1. Brightness is not working

2. Upon restart it does not work again

 

Any tips?
