so im transferring a game to my other ssd and its staying around 20-30 mb/s but sometimes it'll jump up to 500 mb/s every once and a while. is this normal ??

If it's transferring a lot of small files, depending on the source drive capabilities and the capabilities of the SSD, the speed could be reasonable. What is the SSD that the game is coming from?

thats the one its coming from ^^^ and yeah it was at 500mb/s for a while but then half way it just dropped to 20 mb/s

SLC caching. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what's in the Kingston Q500. I once believed the "Q" stood for QLC which can absolutely get that slow, at least at smaller capacities, however it looks to just be an updated version of their A400 drive with 3D TLC. I have not seen any reviews on it so I'm not sure exactly how it performs.
