Need help

Hey this is my first time posting on this site. Not sure if I’m posting in the wrong area for this, sorry if I am. I’m just wondering if there is any parts on my pc I can change out for better performance. I’ve been told changing my GTX 1050ti for GTX 970 would be better and I realised that the 970 has better performance. Now I’m just curious if there is anything else I should change out. Here are my specs.

 

motherboard: MSI Z390-A Pro (XMP Enabled)

cpu: Intel i3-9100F 3.6Ghz Turbo 4.2Ghz

gpu: ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX 1050ti 4GB

ram: 16gb Corsair Vegeance LPX C15 3000mhz

hdd/os: 1TB western digital blue

ssd/games: Kingston 240gb

psu: Casecom 800w 80plus

fans: 4x Deepcool rgb & 2x gamemaxx mirage

os: Windows 10 Professional

Huh, a z390 board with an i3... Well I've now seen everything. It's not a bad CPU, but not what I'd expect to see on the "higher end" boards.

 

Personally, I'd upgrade to the i5 9600 or higher and get rid of the HDD for a large capacity SSD, use said larger capacity SSD for games and use the existing 240GB SSD for the OS. This would help reduce the overall noise of the machine too.

It really depends on what your upgrade budget is, but I would recommend what @TetraSky said above, plus maybe a graphics card upgrade to a 1660 Super or 1660 Ti, unless you want ray tracing.

I wouldn't get the 970. depending on your budget, i'd go for a rx580 ($150) or a 1660 super ($230).
