Headset Mic NOT WORKING!!!

Cyguns

I recently got a new laptop. I used to have a PC so I wanted to use my peripherals on my laptop. For some reason the mic on my headset doesn't work on my new laptop. Why is that?

You didn't give enough information to accurately answer this.

1. What headset?

2. How do you have it connected? (single 4 pin 3.5mm, dual 3.5mm, usb?)

3. How did you test it?

Possible issues.
1. you muted your mic, by the switch in the middle on your headset.
2. you have the sound on that same switch off.
3. stating which headset would help

Its a Sony headset but I'm not sure what the model is. It is connected to a 3.5mm jack. I tested in a voice call on discord.

The mic doesn't have a mute button. It is a Sony but I'm not sure what the model is.

Looks like headphones with a 3 band 3.5mm jack. Many computers don't support the microphones on them through their audio connectors. They're most commonly supported on phones.

It worked on my old computer. I currently have Razer Blade 15. Does it work on it?

1. And you dont have any buttons or switches on the headset or cord that could have been pushed?
2. plug the headset in, see if your computer picks it up at all
3. check your sound settings on your computer
4. plug it into another computer and see if they work there.
