Okay only been able to boot to bios no issue last month due to needing os installed, but if all goes well will have an os. Note if the bios update from 4.0 to 4.1 doesn't rid me of apci errors i recieve on install usb/cd board will change. Ubuntu gaming was what i baught board for initually.

Not overclocking. I fear such a thing as it is my first build, and my 2 case fans never run at full speed in bios and are 3 pin. knowing this, will my rig survive gaming with the following specs? i do not want it to fry.

Oh but it'll be a dream I promise, set your voltage to something extremely safe like 1.125 and try to push 4.5GHz all cores, it'll be fun and super safe.

Did you win the CPU for free or buy it?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I got the gpu last, so i can't afford anything better.

In bios, the two 3 pin case fans won't go over 600-ish speed. even tho the pc is unfairly quiot that the cd player on the pc is louder. and the gpu fans i mentioned having two of are on the gpu itself. at that slow a speed... i doubt running that cpu even 4.1ghz would be safe even tho there is space on the cooler for 2 fans i have only one on the cpu cooler. and for what was asked, baught this new for less than 400.

so with fans being that slow, it won't burn at stock speed when pushing it with 1080p*1920p gaming, and something like minecraft shaders on high as much as gpu can take?

Sounds about right

Um, the stock speed is 4.3 all cores.

Nope, and really you should have some room for a small OC.

Did you buy all this stuff at market prices, or did you get some serious discounts? If you spent all that extra cash just for a CPU and motherboard combo that was designed specifically for insane overclocking, hopefully you'll bump the clocks up just a teeny bit.

The turbo (which will be active in any game or workload) is 5 GHz on one core and 4.3 on all cores. If your CPU is set to only boost to 4.0 GHz then that's way too low. Have you used any software (not task manager) to see what the CPU is running at? Try Hwmonitor

the pc has no os yet. So many issues with this motherboard hating ubuntu and i refuse to uae that pc-slowing resource eating other os. 41degrees in bios the voltage 1.104, while at 4.0, and task manager is a windows thing not linux.

then why did you pick a CPU that boosts to 5.0? If you're doing anything but the lightest web browsing, it'll turbo much higher, because you bought a premium CPU, and the only feature that sets it apart is the high turbo boost frequency. It'll basically never be operating at 4.0GHz.

yes, but don't do that.

your setup is literally tuned for the sole purpose of overclocking. If you were spending all this money just to not overclock, you wasted money. you should have bought an i7 8700 and an H370 motherboard

I meant disable the boost so its never at 4.3 staying at 4.0. I got cheapest ram i could find. Z390 for the usb ports and 10gb/s lan. Alrelady knoing i may need to buy a different non-390 board due to everything going wrong with even getting ubuntu any lts to work, if it does work i'll have system instability apci errors are killing me. more instability due to overclocking would juat ruin it. the other Z390 board with the ports were more so i may need to return it.

I don't know if could give me any indications to my problem with event id 56 apci 2, today after work i'll be testing each RAM Dimm by it self but im really running out of options in my case
