Hi,

so my pc is kinda rebooting everytime i try to play call of duty modern warfare. I've played it for 80 hours but suddenly from day to day it just started rebooting. The same thing has happend when i've played Escape from Tarkov and minecraft with ultra shaders on. I've eliminated software issues, since i've updated all drivers and even reinstalled win10. Then i thought my pc was overheating, it wasnt. Then i tried to swap out my rtx2070 to my bros gtx970 and it kinda worked. I was able to get into a game of cod, but swapped it quickly afterwards. So I sent in my gpu to the company i bought it from but they didnt find any flaw of any kind - it survived 18h of stresstest. So yesterday i received my gpu, so i launched cod mw again to see if something magical had happen - and i was actually able to play 3 matches before it rebooted again. So im kinda back at the beginning where i cant launch a single game of modern warfare before my screen just turns black and reboots...

What could be wrong? i have a minor suspect that its my psu, but i dont have an extra one laying around - so havent tested it.

Im 90% sure that it isnt a software issue, and 90% sure that is not my gpu. Im really frustrated since ive spent a lot of money on that gpu.

Specs

i7-7700k

Asus rtx2070 8gb

16gb DDR4 3000MHx

MSI Z270 Mobo

750W corsair psu

Im sure what to check regarding rails voltage. I've downloaded the program tho.

Im sure that there is nothing wrong with my cable-management, all cables are fine with no bends etc.

Perhaps your PC is using to much power? It shouldn't be the case with a 750W but it may be something with the electric output. I had a simmular problem were my pc just randomly turned off at times and i switched out my motherboard and Power supply and it fixed the problem. It was so frusrating when you play and suddently all your screens just turn black and your pc shutsdown.

Indeed it is, its really frustrating. Well if it continues rebooting ill might buy another psu. I think it might be 4-5 years old, so perhaps its just time

Corsair CM750M

I'm going to assume you mean cx750m

theres a 2012 version of that cpu which is garbage and theres a 2015 version which is okish.

either way this really seems like a psu issue. I recommend corsair RMX or above if you can afford it, rm550x will be enough.

TX is also on the list if rmx is out of your budget.

? What anti virus programs do you have installed? Certain programs don't work too well with video games in my experience. You should also check the 'event viewer' screen to see what logs were reported at the time it crashed, if you can remember when it happened. Just type 'event viewer' in the search bar, go to 'administrative events' and scroll down to the logs that were reported.

No problem, contrary to what the average PC elitist may tell you, there is in fact always something going wrong with your computer, daily. You will see this to be the case with your event viewer, with all the "error" and "warning" logs. I also can't really recommend Ccleaner either, or any other registry cleaner. Some people reported their computers actually running even worse than before they ran such programs.

Well yea okay, i hear you. Have used ccleaner for many years, mostly to erase trash.

Ive looked in my event-veiwer and oh boy there are many critical errors. All of them with the same event-id: 41. Under genereal when selected this message appears:

"Systemet har genstartet uden først at lukke korrekt ned. Denne fejl kan skyldes, at systemet er holdt op med at svare, er gået ned, eller at strømmen forsvandt uventet."

which in english is

"The system has rebooted without shotting down correctly. The reason for this mistake could be, that the system stopped responding, has shot down or that the power disapeared unexpectedly.

I found a windows thread with the same error message, where the answer was to write some codes in commandopromt:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

along with /sfs scannow

ive done that 4 min ago, so curious if its works..

It could be the power supply, or a software incompatibility. What else did the log say? Did it say anything about an 'exception code' or 'module name'?

The things you are asking for is not listed in the event veiwer.

I just noticed in the log that a similar critical event just occurred minuts ago where it didnt actually reboot. Same id and etc as the ones when it completely reboots. I find that kinda strange.

The "source" is Kernal-Power if that helps you with anything.

Assignemntcategori = 63

event-id = 41

Keyword = (70368744177664),(2)

Are your drivers up to date for your operating system and GPU? Is your BIOS up to date as well? Another thing you can do is set up something called a 'mini dump' file, so that you can check it out next time this happens, or post it so we can see it, assuming all else fails. Your PC may or may not create one when the event happens, but it doesn't hurt to set it up anyway. The link below shows you how to do it.
