Hi! I'm new to this platform so bare with me...

I'm looking to upgrade to an AiMesh WiFi system for my family's house. I've gotten the general handle on how to install one and get it up and running, although I've run into a decision I just can't find enough reliable information and reliable experience to be able to answer. AX vs AC. We currently have Gigabit internet through cox and stream through multiple tvs. Though firestick is only AC compatible (or atleast the models we have). A few computers can only read AC though, whilst we have our smartphones and 2 desktops that are compatible with AX WiFi. The big question though is... is it more beneficial to set up an AX AiMesh system rather than an AC AiMesh system, will the AX WiFi provide just as-if not more WiFi capability for devices that can only read AC? Feel free to let me know! I look forward to the responses!

technically yes, unless you factor in the added cost.

just as, not more.

If the cost is a problem at all I would go with AC in a heartbeat, AX doesnt bring many benefits to a home network.

AX is a better standard. BUT your not going to really bennifit much from it if most of your devices are AC wireless. Also, the standard is not 100% complete. They are looking to add 6Ghz in to the mix with AX and that has not been implemented yet. Current hardware will NEVER have 6 Ghz support.

My opinion when WiFi standards is this. Wait 1 to 2 years after its released. Why? 1) Market penitration. Your waititng for devices makers to put WiFi 6 radios in devices. This way you can upgrade your devcies as well. 2) To make sure all the bugs and shit is worked out.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
