So I've been this microphone issue for a long time now and every time I've tried going through Microsoft support they send me a fix they claim will work, end the conversation, and then it fails.  I have 2 Microphones plugged into my computer: a mic on my Webcam that uses USB and a mic on my headset which uses the audio jack.  My headset mic just doesn't work at all on my computer (shows up as connected but can't pick up any sound), and my webcam mic works initially when my PC is powered on but after a seemingly random interval will stop working similarly to the headset.  I've tried updating drivers, setting and changing default devices, disabling many device settings like noise cancellation and setting them back to default, tried installing a Windows update sent by Microsoft support to fix the problem, switched which ports my mics are plugged into, disabled allowing apps exclusive control, and messed with audio enhancements all to no effect.  Any ideas help at this point, I don't even know what parts in my PC I'd have to replace if I can't get the software itself fixed and I just wanna be able to use my mic again.

Have you checked for Malware on your computer? Do you have an Anti-Virus installed? Malware may be causing the issue.
