I'm planning on buying a new laptop that is capable of playing at low to medium settings. My question is which one is the best value in terms of performance and specs?

Btw can you list what games said laptop would be able to play?

Apex legends?

It's in a shop why would I have multiple plastic covered laptops?

They look like they're in a shop but still weird

They all have 4GB of ram which is a problem. Absolute minimum of 8GBs.

RAM I will definitely upgrade to 16GB(probably 3000mhz) as for storage depends I'm going to college soon and I don't own a pc so I don't know how much I need but if need be I'll upgrade to a 1TB SATA ssd

Just to make it clear these laptops are around $USD500 (roughly) and this is in Asia so expect the bare minimum. Asus beats most of the other brands in terms of variety, price and specs.

Sounds good but if the laptop comes factory with 2400MHz ram, don't buy 3000Mhz ram as it will be limited by the 2400Mhz ram that comes stock.

I know that laptop ram is different from desktop but do they work the same way

example- dual channel mode?

I plan to completely replace the ram with my own (if it's not soddered on)

Yes, laptop and desktop ram work the same, laptop ram is just smaller so that it can fit in there

Alright then so to go back to my original question which one is the best value?

There is also the Asus TUF FX505 that has a Ryzen 5 3550H and comes with either a Radeon 560 4GB GDDR5($583 USD) or a 1050 3GB($625 USD) is that good for gaming?

i would personally take the vivobook add another 16gb ram or atleast a 8gb stick in it, and if i wanna game in it i probably will change the thermal paste to a more high performance one. if you can add yout budget a little bit i would recommend a

HP PAVILION GAMING

-ryzen 5 -gtx1050 3gb -512gb nvme ssd

or

asus tuf fx505dd

-ryzen 5  -gtx1050 3gb -512gb nvme ssd

+120hz screen(depending on model you pick)

as i was in indonesia so the pricing should be similar around $700

I'd say the fourth option is looking the best

So you're recommending the essential?
