So I recently had to update Modern Warfare and ever since the game has been crashing. The game will play fine for maybe 3-5 minutes and then crash by freezing whats on screen, but the background audio (wind blowing in games) keeps playing. I have no idea whats going on. Could this be a problem with my motherboards auto oc? Or is this not related to my hardware at all. Curious to see if anyone else has had this problem.

  • Try to use the "Scan & Repair" feature of the client before attempting a reinstall. Might save some time might not because it will have to scan all the files, but then you save yourself the trouble of downloading the whole game and may just need a file or two that got corrupted.

Scan came back clean. Should I reinstall?

Yes. If that doesn't work if may be a hardware issue.

**EDIT**

Could also reinstall windows entirely if that check fails. Make sure you have the most up to date BIOS for your MOBO / Graphics Card, and the newest Graphics Drivers. Just to ensure every possible option before suggesting a hardware issue. I only say that as it is a newer game, and if you have no issues in any other games it's most likely not a hardware issue so I would go through every software / bios / firmware option before I worried about my parts.
