If it's just a word, why do people use it so often? If crap was a REALLY offensive word I think people would say that more often, that's just my opinion but I think the more offensive a word is the more popular it seems to be to use.

Firstly I was quoting a song. Just didn't bother putting the artist or the song title. (Limp Bizkit - Hotdog) 

 

I don't think people use the word just to be offensive, because I personally feel that modern society has desensitized us from words having negative meanings. I mean, with the internet giving everybody (with access) a voice. You can't really be surprised, or offended by words anymore. Simply because most of the people that use the words, simply don't give a shit what other people think. 

 

But think about it. Fuck is an interesting word to begin with. If it's not being used as a synonym for sex, then it's really only showing emphasis. I feel the word is used so often because it sounds a lot more natural then something like frick.
