Ryzen EDC situation!!

Yesterday I changed the fan curve of my cpu's ryzen 2600 wraith cooler to something quieter than before!! I changed that and the cpu went a lot higher than it should have gone to. It maxed around 82C. Also I have a problem with the EDC because I am not doing anything other than watching a video and the cpu's EDC is at 82%, 69% etc... I changed the minimum processing thingy to 5% and on balanced and still nothing!! What could the problem be? 

Also, what is a good fan curve for the ryzen wraith stealth?

I switched from the boxed fan to an AIO as i just couldnt get the fan to cool the CPU correctly unless it was ridiculously high and sounded like a wind turbine.

Worse cooling with same heat load = higher temperature, as expected

Is the CPU decoding the video? That's normal if that's the case, i.e. hardware acceleration (GPU decoding) not enabled.

Did you clean and replace the thermal paste?

Is the cooler mounted correctly?

If it's a worse cooler then temps will be higher.

No it's not normal for any kind of video decoding to spike your temps to 82c...

I was not decoding when that happened I was gaming and the maximum it hit was 82 which was not the case 2 days ago with same kinda cooling fan curve

I did not clean the thermal paste of the cpu cooler nor the cpu with alcohol but i just wiped it off and it was fine because it went out in bits

No I did not try to decode a video , I was watching a vidoe on youtube ....however I dont know sometimes it stays cool and ok and sometimes it spikes up to 50 on idle ohh and also i wanted to ask if leaving a bit with no thermal paste has to do with my poblem , because when I applied  thermal paste and took of the cpu cooler to bve sure I did it correctly a little tiny spot did not have any !! Will the other thermal paste spread out or should I apply some

if the tiny spot is on the edges, it's fine. If it's at the middle then you have a big problem as the cooler can't spread out paste enough to cover that spot.

its at the edge kinda so if my memory is correct i dont have a problem and I dont know how but the problem I had with y cpu is gone without doing anything so thanks i guess

Yes I watch videos on CPU encode all the time on MPC, and on YT.  Sometimes I use MadVR but that's GPU decoding.  Even temps on a 6 hour Handbrake encode doesn't get me close to 82c...

I'm not talking about temperatures, everyone's setup and environment is different. I'm talking about the fact that the CPU load goes up significantly compared to using GPU decoding.

Well I decided that it's time to buy a new cpu cooler so thanks for the help and also is tge Cryorig H7 a good choice

How much does it cost? Comparable coolers are the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black and Arctic Freezer 33 and 34

For me its 33 euros and the cooler master 212 is 36 if I remeber correctly and the same for the arctic cooler..oh and also i wanted to ask : Is it ok if the cpu is using 95% or 99% while watching a video and the temperatures being 51 or 53 C (stock wraith cooler)???

high usage but low temperature? What clock speed is it running?

well its actually more like 80% but the cores are all around the board. core 1 and 2(sometimes) are hitting 3800mhz consistently while the others stay at 1550 mhz or somethin like that or they are boosting to 3800 too by just watching

are you reading the CPU temperature per core or something else?

ryzen master
