Alright, need some help. I want to get a great headset that will be used for everything, Gaming, Movies, TV, Music etc... They will be hooked up to my mixer, the Yamaha MG10XU. From my understanding and limited research, I could get a 250ohm set like the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pros and it should be able to drive them no problem. I am looking for the VERY BEST I can get for under $200 and these were consistently showing up on lists I read up on.

Things to consider:

I wear hearing aids so needs to be over ear.

i would prefer detachable cable, but not a deal breaker.

If you have other suggestions and recommendations, please leave them. Again I want the VERY BEST I can buy for $200 or less to give the best, cleanest, crispest sound.

there is another topic that i was just discussing this in. i have and always will use my V-Moda headphones. i have owned all the models. i have owned a pair of m80s and lp2s for 10 years and i have many of the new models. i have tried sennheiser and feel this are of the same quality sound but built much tougher. have heard many stories of ppl breaking headphones well you cannot break VModas.

check out the new m200s or crossfades.

What type of sound are you looking for? Do you need something for music or for gaming? because lots of headphones can  deliver what your asking for if you just need a clean sound.  your source gear can come to question as well is it clean.

Not sure your question? I know very little when it comes to Audio stuff.

As far as setup its USB to my Yamaha MG10XU mixer for my main PC then I have 3.5mm to 1/4inch from 2nd PC and from Monitor into my Mixer as well to allow capture of audio from that PC as well as from Consoles like my Nintendo switch which only has 1 audio source available at a time.

There's a lot of opinions on "the best" because everyone's ears are different. The DT990 aint a bad option for your first headphones... give em a shot.

I'm sorry for derailing your thread a little, but if you don't mind answering, I've always been curious...

How do hearing aids fare with headphones? Can you tell noticable differences in things outside of the higher ranges? Does bass suffer?

I ask partially out of curiosity for my future as hearing loss is common in my family.

For me, I am very tone deaf to the high frequencies so having them in makes my ranges so much more. It really does help with getting a truer, cleaner sounding sound rather than a muffled jumbled mess that I deal with without my hearing aids in. I personally don't think bass suffers much, if at all. A lot of it will depend on the frequency ranges you go deaf to.
