I have the Asus Rog Strix Z270e with i7 7700k. I CANNOT use ethernet so you don't need to tell me to just switch from wifi to ethernet. The built in wifi on the board has 100 percent signal strength(as it says on CMD's wifi test command netsh wlan show interface). However, the built in wifi is quite weak and will give me insane lag spikes every 10-20 minutes. I tried buying a wifi card(such as intel's AC cards). Each time I plugged the wifi card into the PCIe slot, the signal strength would always be capped below 90. The ping was faster than the built in wifi card but I got lag spikes more frequently. I even bought the same wifi card as my brother since he does not lag through wifi yet I kept lagging. Is this motherboard bottlenecking the PCIe wifi cards? Also, is it bad that the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller is a Intel 300 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller? Windows updated it from the 200 chipset controller to the 300. (BTW, I did disable the built in wifi when I plugged in the PCIe wifi card)
