i5-2500k overclocking problem

Hello guys!

 

I'm new to overclocking and stuff, but i have an i5-2500k with the H61H2-M10 (ecs) motherboard, When i try to overclock my cpu, the cpu multiplier is locked at 33

 

I'm not sure if the problem is that my motherboard isn't OC compatible or not, it says it can do on the manuel.

 

I tried installing the xtu thing, and same thing, my max multiplier was 33.

 

Can u help me?

Only Z chipsets are overclock-able.

You need a Z68 or Z77 board to overclock that chip.

they most likely just adapted the manual from a board that does support overclocking, which this one doesn't.

 

For LGA1155, Z and P chipset boards can overclock non-K CPUs by 400MHz, but not the other way around.

Make sure Intel Turbo Boost and the C states are enabled in the bios.  You cannot overclock with this motherboard but when setup properly, turbo boost should give you an increase in MHz.  Up to 3700 MHz when 1 core is active.
