I have a beautiful 13 year old vaio beast with intel 965 graphics, a core 2 duo t7500 (2 cores@2.2) and 2 GB of ram. I installed the geforce now and with 100megabit it says that system requirements aren't met. Is it the gpu which only supports dx9? (Note I'm using some random modded drivers that actually give better support and performance to games and since my setup is so old I would notice any performance toll caused by malware)

And if you go with official drivers, what happens?

I think the minimum requirements are more about your hardware having a hardware video decoder for h264 or hevc or whatever the service uses to stream the video to you.

You're not actually playing on your computer, you're just watching a live video and sending the keys and mouse movements to their servers, but the 10-15 mbps video that you stream must be decoded very fast, in real time... your hardware probably doesn't have this.

PC Hardware Requirements

  • Dual core x86-64 CPU with 2.0GHz or faster
  • 4GB of system memory
  • GPU that at least supports DirectX 11

Nope on DX9. Nope on Intel 965. Nope on RAM.
