Oh my god i really are beginning to miss the older days with my thinkpad, or even dell with the giant dock connector, and just ... a working setup, running 2x1440p screens from dell, and a Precision 5530 i have had nothing but issues, and it all seems to be linked with bandwidth (office pc, not my own)..

got the NEW DELL USB-C dock for workstations which has dual USB-C connectors, but the 5530 (6-Core/12thread- P1000 - 32gb ram-4k) only have 1 usb C, so have tried the older usb C dock but always the same issues.

first of all reduced charging from the 130watt it requires to 100watts, which is annoying, but now also multidisplay issues, suddenly one screen will only run a wierd resolution of 2080x1080 (what.. ?!?) or it flickers, so currently only running one display, and with a displayport to dock instead of the USB C display cable, and it works, but it is so limiting..

And the 100watts of peak power is not something my 5530 is happy with, fortunatly i am not using the P1000 so it should be fine, the 6 core should have enough power.. but i still do miss the old dock connector..

apart from the Power, the USB standard should have no issues running dual 1440p monitors and 100watt through the Dell applied cable.

I've personally never had problems with the docks I use at work, altough I can't say the same about some of my colleagues.

Make sure all the drivers are up to date, that sometimes fixed some issues. Other than that: I agree, I miss the old dock, where I could just throw my laptop into it and it would just... work

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably
