Hi everyone!

Planning to buy a graphics card for my new build and I was first thinking to get a RX590 because I thought there where not that expensive online bought then I saw the price of the 5500 XT.

With no sales these are the pricings in my country!

Gigabyte 5500XT OC8GB €195

MSI Armor RX590 OC8GB €205

I wonder what the difference is, online I saw that the RX590 a little bit faster is but I want to hear the opinion of you guys! Maybe team green has something better to offer, I don't think so ^^

I have very good and powerful psu so power draw and such is not an issue.

The RX 5500XT will be faster, and I would recommend it more.

The 1650 Super is cheaper than the 5500XT in the Netherlands. And it's just as fast of a card.

Way more reliable drivers most of the time too. AMD Drivers, and especially Adrenaline 2020, have been a shitshow for a lot of people since mid 2019.

Between those two, definitely the 5500XT. It is similar in performance while consuming almost half the power.

That being said, in this price range I'd much rather recommend the 1660 Super, as it is faster than both cards, consumes slightly less power than even the 5500XT and you get Nvidia Shadowplay and NVENC (though those might not be that useful to everyone) and possibly more stable drivers. The only drawback with the 1660 Super is, on paper, the fact that it only comes with 6GB of VRAM as opposed to 8GB on the 5500XT, but realistically these are cards intended for 1080p/light 1440p, so 6GB will be more than enough.

1660 Super is almost €270

That's incorrect, the 5500XT is roughly on pair with the RX 580, the RX590 often outpaces it.

Well, in that case, I guess the 5500XT is the way to go.
Normally they're in the same $200ish price bracket, but pricing does differ from country to country.

And half the VRAM

You need more than 4GB VRAM? The vast majority of games seem to eat around 3.8GB max at 1080p, some newer or more VRAM hungry titles (like Rise and now Shadow of the Tomb Raider) can consume more than that though.

Given this, I'd advise the RX590. It's slightly faster apparently (don't have time to watch the vid myself but I trust Luna), but more importantly it's a Polaris card. That'll let you dodge a lot of the issues plaguing Vega and especially Navi right now (the aforementioned driver issues are mostly with those cards from what I've seen).
