Today I built my first pc. And everything went right until I hit the power button. My system didn't boot. My cpu fan was spinning, my case fans were spinning and my graphics card fans were spinning. But I had no video output and my front io didn't supply any power.

What could cause this problem?

PC Spec list:

Ryzen 5 3600

Gigabyte gtx 1660 super

MSI x470 gaming pro

Corsair Vengeance 2x8 DDR4 3200

Thermaltake Netzteil German Berlin 630W / 80plus / Bronze PSU

Sharkoon RGB LIT 100 Midi Tower

WD Green 240GB M.2 SSD

Unless you bought the MAX version of the board, it will require a BIOS update to work with Ryzen 3000.

These aren't guaranteed to be compatible. If you want, you can contact AMD for a boot kit and they should lend you a free CPU to update, all you need to do is provide proof of purchase.

Otherwise, it's pretty easy to ask a friend to lend a CPU.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

  • Warning! Some AMD X470 chipset motherboards (MSI) may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse Core (Ryzen) CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
  • Note:The MSI X470 GAMING PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Thermaltake Berlin 630 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.
