Key pulsing Logitech G710+

Yesterday my trusty logitech G710+ started developing an interesting problem. The CTRL key is now registering a ghost press every five seconds. Considering how important the control key is, you may see the problem this is creating. I tested the keyboard for presses both in a browser program and the Logitech gaming software and somehow, logitech’s software does not register the stroke, but the browser tester did. Everything else about the keyboard works fine, even the control key (when the ghost press is not active). Have anyone had this problem before, and is this fixable? I don’t want to buy a new keyboard if I don’t have to, but I cannot live with a broken CTRL key. 

Also if I hold down the key it unselects it at the interval of the press, so sometimes it does not work when i expect it to do so

I am stupid. I forgot rule one of PC trubleshooting. Somehow turning the PC off and on again fixed it.
