I have a MSI Z87-GD65 I have looked at their list of approved memory, but still having issues picking out the right memory. I am either going to do a total of 8 or 16 depending on price, and yes I would like to overclock the board. Help. I have been looking on newegg

put one thing in you'r mind more than 8GB for memory wown't mater becaus it's like a limit for it, so any thing more than that  you'll barly notice any difrance in performance but if you inciste get 16GB so you can u^grade later to 32 GB without running into compatibilty issues

Here's the memory I'm currently using in my system, it has a speed of 1600 Mhz.

Kingston HyperX Blu Black 8 GB RAM kit http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_312_612&item_id=058485

Kingston HyperX Blu Black 16 GB RAM kit http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_312_612&item_id=058484

The 16 GB RAM kit is CL10 RAM though so it will give you better performance. I'm using the 8 GB RAM kit in my system though and it performs fine.

Hope this helped.

Go with 16gb dual channel kits for future proofing. Corsair RAM is typically overpriced, look at G.Skill, Kingston or Mushkin. Don't waste your money on high speed kits, they tend to have looser timings. Get 1600 or 1866 MHz speeds, 2133 OK but not needed. Pay attention to the Cas Latency/timings...the lower the better.
