Star Wars Fallen Order PC Graphics Issues

I recently purchased Star Wars Fallen Order, but I am having some issues with the graphics in the game. I have all settings on Medium (which is the lowest it goes in the game) but I am still experiencing some really weird graphics hitching in the game. My PC should be able to handle it (AMD Ryzen 3800x, GTX 1070, 32GB RAM @ 3600 MHz) so I am not entirely sure what is going on. Has anyone experienced issues with this game or is there something else that could be going on?

Does taking away all the overclocks (including memory, so back to 2133) solve the problem?

While the min requirements to run this game are laughable, you are basically meeting the recommended requirements - however I note in your Siggy that you have a new PC compared to the one you mention there - did you just swap the Operating System drive into the new rig without a new install of OS?

I did upgrade some stuff, but I did (or try) to do a Windows re-install without deleting my programs and files. That could very likely be the problem.

That will be the problem, at least I would personally bank on that if I were in your shoes.  Windows 10 is amazing at having generic drivers that let stuff "work" / "communicate" but what you are describing sounds just like this being the problem from my experience.

Even with a not-fresh Windows install is that still an issue?

Yes.  Your old PC was a Intel board, with an Intel CPU.  The Operating System has drivers for those pieces directly, and then these generic drivers to make all things "work" and by that I am trying to mean - it will boot, it will go to web browsers, etc but it will not perform as intended.

 

You need to do a fresh Operating System install so that during the installation process the hardware associated with the install get the correct drivers up front and in use.

 

Basically - it is of my unprofessional, albeit well versed, opinion that this is the cause of your stuttering.

 

Anyone else however please feel free to chime in, but I would bet some coin I am correct

 

EDIT - my only other thought would be you have it installed on the HDD, install it on the SSD and see if that fixes it (if this is the case, before a reinstall of the OS)

Thanks. You are probably right. I was hoping to avoid this, but it may be unavoidable. 

 

The game is installed on my HDD, but I don't think that's the issue since I've always done that for games and this problem is a new one, so it makes sense regarding the operating system.
