Super simple ATR2500 mod

It seems that the audio technica ATR2500 has trouble growing in the shadow of the AT2020. But for those who have one and like me, could not stand the insanely bright power led, this is a simple way to fix it.

Go ahead and remove the two screws at the bottom of the microphone housing to detach the metal casing.

pKexstr.jpgAfter taking it apart all there is to do is take some duct tape (preferably something cheap so that it glows through it still.

aaaaand without the taped cover.

after applying the tape make sure to screw it together the most awkward way possible :D

The finished product no longer illuminates the whole room but still glows enough to show that it is indeed on.
