So my friend tried to come up with a strictly gaming pc build that will hold up well in modern games, but still be on the relatively cheaper side of things. We are both relatively new to the pc building community and don't know too much about compatibility between parts. I was wondering if I could get someones opinion on the build he made.

The build consists of:

Asus prime h270 plus

I3-9350KF (chosen because it is decent but still cheap, but probably going to upgrade to an i5 or i7)

Gtx 1070 ti

16gb (2x8gb) ddr4 2400mhz

powersupply he picked out:

Samsung 970 EVO 500gb Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) SSD

Seagate - Barracuda 3TB Internal Hard Drive

Why not go with AMD Ryzen 5 and a cheap but decent B450 board, I believe that will give you the best bang for the buck with a good upgrade path.

so do you think a ryzen 5 3600x and a b450 tomahawk max would be a good option?

3600 or 3600x with a b450 tomahawk max should work nicely, but it would help to know what the budget is.
