What is the power consumption normally? Then, see what the new cards power consumption is. It might not run so you possibly could need a new PSU.

No, 450 watts is plenty. The bigger question is the quality of the PSU itself

I'm used to older cards, that have increasing amounts of power consumption. Like a lot.

1060, 2060 or 2060 Super? What PSU do you currently have exactly?

Edit: Yeah no, you will want to upgrade that power supply. A good fairly inexpensive option would be a CX550 from Corsair.

That's generally considered a pretty poor quality PSU. I would look at a CX450 or CX550 for cheap.

Yeah I forgot about the 1660. They just have so many '60s nowadays lol

What if it was a 650w tho

wattage doesn't matter, it's the fact that the quality of the power supply and power delivery is bad which can lead to a large number of different issues. It's not going to burst into flames but some fluctuations in power or other issues could take it out and other components with it.

Brand does not mean good. it depends on the series.

There is a good list here:

He doesn't need anywhere near 650W.  You don't use "a little brim".  LOL!   You either have enough power or you don't.

If you have enough power, but it's a crappy PSU, then he's either slowly killing his other parts or is in store for a short product life.

He just needs a better PSU.

Don't want to sound like a jerk, but... I have noticed, you like to recommend ridiculously oversized PSU s. Why?

A 400w psu is perfectly enough for 1660Super/1660ti,  1060 GPU. Those cards draw roughly 130w under Fürmark..

I have a buddy, who even ran a 1070ti on a 400w unit... Without issues

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )
