Hi guys,

I'm quite new to the forums but a long time subscriber to Linus and his gang of merry men.

I have a wierd screen flickering issue with a brand new MSI 270X Gaming Edition graphics card that I installed in my system. The frame (screen) usually moves down 1" very rapidly once every 5 minutes (or more), but quite random at the best of times in terms of frequency. I have updated drivers a few times, I believe the last three amd drivers including the 14.1 mantle driver. They have all had the same problem. I'm not sure what to do, I hope that its not breaking anything, the card is brand new.

Here are my specs

MSI ATX AM2+ Motherboard

4 GB DDR2 RAM (kingston)

AMD Phenom X4 9750 CPU (Socket AM2+)

DVD/CD Read/Write Drive

XFX PRO 650W PSU (Non modular, the one manufactured by Silverstone)

1 WD Green 1TB HDD

1 WD 320GB Notebook drive

2 120MM Case Fans (Cooler Master)

Cooler Master Haf 912 Case

I am fully aware of the CPU/GPU bootleneck, but that shouldnt affect the card in that way.

Thanks for any advice!!

I have the latest drivers, yes. As I said, 14.1 drivers, but this card has seen 3 seperate updates to the drivers and nothing has changed. I have been reading in other forums about a bios flash to the gpu bios? I have no clue how to do this or if it at all works

Its defenetly a broken GPU , hope fully u didnt have this card for too long so, if its still on warranty call the retailer, if its not on the retailer warrenty see if it has a warrenty by AMD ,

i dont know why but some cards have  warrenties that can last up to 1-5 years

since its MSI you have 3 years, these links will hopefully help , and im guessing you live in the US
