Installed new RAM , wont post.

Exchanged my 2x4 2666mhz corsair vengeance with 2x8 3200mhz because my ryzen 5 3600 needed more speed and now the pc wont post.

Cpu fan and case fans spinning, the little light beside the 24pin power connector is also on.

Board is B450 A PRO max

Is it printed on the board, or in yoru manual what that LED indicates?

Have you attempted to reseat your new sticks?
If so, have you swapped back to your old sticks to see if the issue persists?
Are your sticks on the QVL for your motherboard?

Upon further investigation the little lights have names "BOOT", "VGA", "DRAM", "CPU" and the only one which appears to be on is the CPU one.

No , i actually removed the automatic OC because the stock cooler couldnt keep up.

Could i try removing the CMOS battery?

It's always an option, yes.

If it fails to boot after a clear CMOS, I think your next step is going to be reseating your new sticks and/or installing your old sticks to see if the issue persists

Alright, ill try that.

The thing with reseating the sticks is that the 1st (4th? Just the slot closest to the cooler) cant be installed without removing the stock wraith stealth, and im not sure if i could even mount the cooler back after the ram was installed.

If you had to remove your cooler to remove and install your sticks, it may also be worth reseating your CPU as well. Also ensure that you're slotting your stick in the correct ports, It's generally more common for the appropriate slots to be 2/4 for two stick configurations.

Alright, that was fun.

Installed old ram, posted, put back new ram, posted. Sometimes technology can be very funny.

Thanks anyways.

Sometimes being 99% of the way there means that you're 0% of the way there. That's why reseating of various components is the very first go-to when diagnosing boot issues. It's fairly common that reseating "X" can resolve issues.

Glad you have it sorted!
