RX 5600 XT Vrs 1080

Beep or Boop

So I have had my 1080 since it launched, in 2016 I think? And I'm curious if you guys can put it in layman's terms if it would be a big upgrade or not. I struggle understand specs for computer parts. Thanks guys!

Simple no will do. They will perform almost identical. 1080 is still very good card.

The 1080 and the 5700xt are about the same in performance. It wouldn't be a upgrade.

Uh I dont think it would be an upgrade, at best a "side grade" since the 5600xt competes with the rtx 2060 which is a little better than last gens 1070.

Ok. I'm just trying to figure out which part of my build to focus on next. I'm struggling with FPS in some games. Even though I think my rig should handle 60 fps in most instances. I drop to 40-50 a lot. Thanks Whiro

what resolution and settings also

If you are looking for an upgrade then you would want at least a 2070S for a noticeable improvement

1920x1080 and I don't max out my settings. I usually run medium or high, depending on which gives me most fps.

and you're only getting 60fps? it could be thermal throttling issues and its slowing down
