2080 Super OC Questions

Hey guys, I’m looking to put an OC on my ROG Strix 2080 Super Advanced. I tried running MSI Afterburners OC Scanner but I Black screened and had to restart my GPU. Would I be best off trying to use the scanner? Or just doing a manual OC?

 

if I go manual, what’s more important, clock speed or memory? And what are some OCs you guys have gotten on similar cards?

the oc scanner shouldn't crash your card. maybe try again. if still doesn't work, do it manually.

start with maxing the power and temp sliders, then increase clock speed gradually while having unigine heaven running to stress it. do it until it crashes and then dial it back a bit so it's stable. when you found your righgt oc (usually +150 or +200, but depends), you can do the same with the memory speed, the memory will take more, likely between +500 and +800

Sorry did you say you run Heaven while you OC? I’ve never heard of that? I’ve always just set my OC, then ran Heaven

yeah you can continuously keep it running (not the benchmark thing that calculates the score, but just the normal loop)

it might show signs of instability before actually completely crashing, so it will save you a few restarts.
