Does anybody know if this is a suitable replacement for a MacBooks hard-drive? Ive filled the 500GB HDD and I can tell its on its way out anyway, it keeps making the famous noises etc, Everything is backed up to my PC so its ok :)

Will that work ok though? Im worried about the fact it doesn't have a Free-Fall sensor? Is this important? I was SSD performance but don't want to loose out on storage.

Cheers

So, I just switched from a Mac...

which macbook? you could pull the optical drive and put in a hard drive chassis so you can put your boot programs on the ssd and then get a 1tb HDD and use that as storage.

anything that is the same dimensions as the existing HDD will work fine.

I do remember reading about alot of issues with beachball hangtimes or waking from sleep using the momentus hybrid with OS X.   But there are also a ton of positive good reviews.  The negative threads were enough though to make me decide against trying it..

I went with hitachi  travelstar

I'd suggest some google searches for "momentus hybrid OS X hang", or "sleep", etc.  It maybe was just a problem with older versions of OS X and the Seagate old firmwares.
