Suitable replacement for Macbook HDD?

Does anybody know if this is a suitable replacement for a MacBooks hard-drive? Ive filled the 500GB HDD and I can tell its on its way out anyway, it keeps making the famous noises etc, Everything is backed up to my PC so its ok

Will that work ok though? Im worried about the fact it doesn't have a Free-Fall sensor? Is this important? I was SSD performance but don't want to loose out on storage.

which macbook? you could pull the optical drive and put in a hard drive chassis so you can put your boot programs on the ssd and then get a 1tb HDD and use that as storage.

anything that is the same dimensions as the existing HDD will work fine.

Like Jaybird said, anything that is the same size will work. MacBook do not use proprietary connectors or controllers, so as long as the drive's height is not an issue, it will work.

I do remember reading about alot of issues with beachball hangtimes or waking from sleep using the momentus hybrid with OS X. But there are also a ton of positive good reviews. The negative threads were enough though to make me decide against trying it..

I'd suggest some google searches for "momentus hybrid OS X hang", or "sleep", etc. It maybe was just a problem with older versions of OS X and the Seagate old firmwares.
