in my kitchen i have 18 GU10 bulbs controlled by 3 switches. 1 switch for the kitchen, 1 for a small cabinet, 1 for the dining room. im looking to automate all of these so i can use them with my alexa. i know i could buy a bunch of smart bulbs but i feel there may be a more cost effective way of doing things. could anyone weigh in with any ideas?

 

completely serpate thing here but my wifi routers absolute shite (vurgin super hub 3) im looking into getting a new 3rd party one but not too sure where to look. would be super helpful if someone could just point me in the right direction. thanks

Buy smart switches instead of smart bulbs?

Smart switch is $18 on amazon.

Don't buy it though.  You're alexa will be selling your lightswitch preference data to the Chinese...

I have one of these. Basically a swtich that connects to the wiring and you can get wireless swtiches that will also connect to the wired swtich. If you buy their hub it will give WiFi access so you can control them.
