144hz or 60hz

hello lads,

i am soon buying a new 1440p monitor and i dont know if i should get a 144hz or 60hz.

i read online that 144hz is more demanding for my graphics card and that i would need atleast 100 fps to rly feel the difference to 144hz.

Is it a bad decision to go for a 144hz monitor if i know that i wouldnt get so high framerates with a 1440p monitor?

and i dont play much fps games maybe some rainbow and cs but i am basically a troll and not that competitive X), mostly i play rpg and rts games witcher, warcraft, command and conquer and such.

 

specs : saphire vega 56 , ryzen 5, 16gb ram

Vega 56? what's your psu cpu and memory?
!44hz it's life... why not 1080p 144hz? we have 1080p 144hz monitors...

144hz isn’t more demanding, it’s just harder to get 144fps than 60.

 

i would always recommend 144hz over 60. You don’t need 100fps to nice the difference. Once you switch you’ll never go back.

I think you can actually start to feel a difference even at ~75 fps.

 

It would be best to go for a freesync monitor since that smoothes out FPS drops.

My TV is 1440p 120hz freesync capable and even if I dont hit 120 FPS all the time, it is still SO much better than 60hz.

psu dont know but i have a ryzen 5 1400. 16gb Ram...and i rly want a 1440p monitor

Its 4k 60hz, but supports 1440p 120hz.

 

So Im playing games 1440p 120hz and everything else 4k 60h

You’ll notice it just using the desktop. I’d get 144hz. Better in every way really.
