EATX case for 3970x (with proper airflow)

Hi all,

 

I am really struggling to find an EATX case for my upcoming 3970x build which will include the Aorus Master and a 160mm high Wraith Ripper. Every single case I look at seems to have no airflow with either glass or a flat plastic front with no grill, RGB and glass windows adding to the cost. I would just love a plain case with enough room, good airflow for intake, and no extras adding to the cost like RGB and glass side panels.

 

I have looked up many cases and the Antec P101 has no frills but unfortunately I have heard the airflow is quite poor. My current case is the BeQuiet SIlent Base 800, which I have measured would probably fit an EATX motherboard in but it would be extremely tight at the bottom near the power supply and it would overhang all the cable management holes.

 

Are there any cases that fit my criteria of a simple box with no frills and good airflow that don't break the bank? Thanks in advance

H500P (mesh) works, but cable grommets are blocked off.

Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately this case also has a glass front and poor airflow as a result! It seems that is the trend but its a bad trend indeed!

Yeah. I had this same dilemma. The case is a bit plasticy for my tastes, but it performs well.

I didn't have the time to wait for the Phanteks Enthoo Pro II (Mesh Front) or Thermaltake Level 20 RS (Mesh Front) that were shown at CES. They won't be out until probably March.

Yeah it's super annoying! It's almost like they build a standard glass case and make a more expensive one with actual decent airflow to get you to pay more!

 

I am guessing it will still fit an EATX motherboard even though it is only ATX?

The Enthoo Pro II is actually going to be a bit cheaper @ $130. Idk what the Level 20 pricing was. Oh darn. There was no info on it before, but now I see the RS doesn't fit E-ATX. Bummer. I must have assumed it was the same size as the glass front E-ATX case I saw next to it in someone's coverage video.

Yup, thought it was going to be the size of the view 51 https://www.thermaltake.com/view-51-tempered-glass-argb-edition.html.

Man, I really wish they made a mesh version of it....

Yeah, the Enthoo Pro was a bit dated for my custom loop needs, so I was attempting to wait out the Pro II.

That would be a killer case! The Enthoo Pro is literally perfect! No wastes at all and very large for EATX builds!
