Bad Quality Via Hdmi?

When I connect my PC to my monitor the picture the same via HDMI or DVI. However, when I connect my Xbox 360 to it via HDMI the colours are faded a text isn't very sharp, I have tried multiple cables.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't most Xbox games run natively at 720p? If so, that could be a contributing factor. 720p on a large display doesn't look very pretty.

Can you change the resolution on the Xbox to 1080?

Yeah, it sounds like a resolution problem... What monitor are you running?

you should check your Xbox's resolution settings.. Xbox's can run at 1080 30fps  or 720 60fps..

It's outputting at 1080p to my 23" Asus monitor (I forget the actual model name). It never looked blurry even when up close when outputting to my 1080p 32" TV via HDMI

have you tried hooking it up to different tvs? Also some monitors/ tvs has separate settings per device/input make sure to set it to default.

clean your xbox HDMI port with some compressed air

Its not a wire problem I think it is something to do with resolution setting on your xbox or possibly your monitor

It's a resolution problem definitely. Xbox runs natively on 720p and there's a reason for that. Could you change the resolution of your monitor?

Like everyone said, the XBox 360 runs at 720p.

If your monitor has 1:1 pixel matching feature, turn it on, and you should get a sharp image, but black borders all around, as the image of the console won't be scaled by the monitor.
