So there was this new update for windows, i think its 1906, and i left it to install itself and left the house for 30 mins. I came back to see pc turned off, and ofc my dad turned it off halfway trough update.

Now i cant get past the *microsoft edge update for windows 10* getting ready state, also tried restarting several times, safe mode, none of those worked.

pls help

  1. Run Disk Cleanup utility and clean the following (or what other things you want): Temporary Internet Files (actually, I think that is no longer needed since Vista with teh new update manager, but meh, might as well), Delivery Optimization Files, Device driver packages, Temporary files and Temporary Windows install files.
  2. Empty your Temp folder: (C:\Users\<Account name>\AppData\Local\Temp)
  3. Empty your system Temp folder: (C:\Windows\Temp)
  4. Delete the folder: C:\$WINDOWS.~BT (hidden - show system hidden folder and hidden files from the folder option panel)
  5. Delete the folder $Windows.~WS (same as above, it is a hidden)
  6. Delete the folder $WinREAgent (same as above. This one might not exists)

Restart your system, and check for updates. This should clear everything related to updates for all types of updates.

I cant find any of these hidden folders in local disk, done everything else. Should i try to update now?

Edit: I restarted it and tried to update, seemed fine at first then ultimately came back to this, its been like this for 4 straight hours now:
