A matter of fans...

Hello!

I've got a system running in a Fractal Design R6 and up until Xmas I was running with stock fans. Was planning on an upgrade so I spoke about this to family and gf. Long story short, got two sets of fans for Xmas...

3 x Corsair ML 120 RGBs (parents)

3 x Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 2000 PWM (GF kept hearing me talk about Noctua so she got the right brand but idk about the model. IPPCs run loud).

Adding the 3 x Fractal Design 140mm stock AND a Noctua Chromax 140mm I got for a different project that fell through... I am trying to achieve a good balance between cooling and noise (I hate loud PCs).

Specs: Ryzen 2700x with Noctua NH D15

EVGA 2080 TI XC

16GB Trident Z RAM OC to 3466Mhz

Corsair H850i PSU

So here's the thing: what is the best combo to use for maximum cooling but keeping it quiet? I really like the RGB on the ML120s but it's not a deal breaker.

Stock is running pretty hot (83C GPU under load, CPU ~65C under load). What can I do guys? I appreciate the help

I would do a triple intake with either the MF120R, and a triple exhaust with the NF-F12. Or flip them depending on aesthetics.

I currently have 5x MF120R and and 3x LL120's in my rig, and with the custom fan curve I have set they're very quiet when I game.

Triple exhaust as in 2x top and one back exhaust? I was thinking of that myself. MLs would look nice on top due to RGB but since I plan on converting my Define R6 to open layout I don't think it would matter, much.

My maths says that whether I run Noctuas at 40% or MLs at ~60% the volume of air should be the same (Noctua has way better H20 SP 7.6 vs 2.1 for the MLs).

I am thinking Noctuas front intake, 2 MLs top, one rear as exhaust. Maybe the Chromax as an extra intake on the bottom?

yeah either 2 top one back, or 3 top.

To be honest I'm not sure. I have 6 Intake and 2 Exhaust (can you say positive pressure much), but I don't run them at a constant speed. I set a custom curve for everything in the bios depending on temps. For max silence.
