So I'm trying to figure out if I want to upgrade to a AIO cooler. I have reason why I do and reasons I don't. Well first off the cooler I have is just fine. I have a Dark rock Pro 4 and I love it. Keeps everything nice and chilly though might be over kill for not overclocking but I don't need to. Im running a 9900K so I thought it needed it at the time. So the Dark rock Pro 4 is great but its wayyyyy to big. I can't get to any of my components without removing it. Especially my ram and second NVME drive bay. Now I'd love to upgrade to a AIO cooler that way I can easier get to components without having to reapply thermal paste. No I'm worried about buying a AIO cooler bc I've heard horror stories of them leaking and destroying PCs. Not to mention I'm not sure if my case can fit a AIO cooler since I want the biggest one at 360 MM. I currently have a Corsair Graphite 780T Full tower. Any advice others can offer would be awesome.

Is there a particular reason you need to get to your components for any reason after installation?

Unless you are going to bother overclocking, AIO isnt going to make your cpu perform any better, just potentially cooler.

Upgrading later on. Really hard to get to my GPU which I do plan to do in the future when the 30 series comes out and I want to upgrade my ram to 32 GB but can't since I have to remove the heat sink

Do you have any need to upgrade to 32 GB in the near future? Also the cooler is a pretty simple install, but its a choice if you want to spend another 120$ on a AIO.

I do not reccomend buying the 3000 series GPUS until they are properly tested. I prefer buying the used previous gen, saves money

Hmmm no just I've noticed high idle usage on my PC. Probably bc of all the stuff running in the background. But I wanted to upgrade to 32 GB. And like I said I'm worried about it leaking. Can I test it before I hook it up? Does my case support it?

And how long do they have to be tested? Because I was hoping to upgrade right away when they come out. Heard they are suppose to be faster and have better ray tracing.

AIOS are very safe now adays from reputable brands such as Deepcool, Corsair, NZXT and such. If its a cheap knockoff brand, then yeah its probably that way for a reason.

Saw a Amazon review for the ROG AIO cooler and they said it leaked and destroyed their whole rig.  Though I feel trusting Amazon reviews is a bad idea

Not to mention how do I keep it from leaking on my components?

If you are honestly this worried about this just stick with your air cooler. This is not going to be an i told you so moment if something goes wrong.

Thanks I decided to stick with Air cooling

Ive never had an aio leak or heard from someone that their aio leak.

Aio's rarely leak now, and if they do, I'm sure you could get the manafacture (if from a reputable brand) to cover damages.
