Internet speeds

Is a phone hotspot enough for gaming? (GTA V, Minecraft etc.) And my home internet needs only 1 connection to bring down the speeds to like 10-5 mbps. My phone has around 70 mbps in the afternoon. Do i ask my dad and hope to get a dedicated router or just do it on hotspot?

I get the feeling if you moved to using a mobile hot-spot like this you'd be trading off one problem for another. The bandwidth may be higher but so would your ping.

 

Now I'm not a gamer so take this with a grain of salt but I would expect in a game like Minecraft it may not be too terrible (besides seeing characters glitch across the screen) but in a much more demanding game like GTA V it could be quite displeasurable to play.
