Posted January 11, 2020 It is trying to initialize but fails, repeatedly. Broken. It is probably not working with actual clock-settings. A non-OC vgabios may work.

The eVGA GTX 970 has several versions and bios-files, which one is it, exactly?

In order to flash the bios the card has to be visible for the flashing software. It is possible that the behaviour is due to weakening capacitors on the card, so the dram or the gpu itself gets too little energy to function properly. I think you haven't removed the heatsink yet? Posted January 11, 2020 does it smell like something burned? A friend had the same card after removing the cooler i noticed a burnt mosfet. doing a quick google search revealed it's a common problem with the 970, you can find multiple forum/reddit posts. GPU drivers giving you a hard time? Try this! (DDU)
