I plan on getting the Ducky one 2 mecha mini.

Very short keyboard for low sens FPS gaming also no plastic for a very stable chassis. I already own the normal one 2 mini with red switches and love it!

Id suggest to for blue switches for typing and mobas or red/silver for FPS gaming.

The silvers being the best allrounder in my opinion.

Hi, i am looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard, looking to spend $175 tops, I don’t mind the size or connection method but it does need rgb. I would like switch reccommendations.

thanks,

richard

Go to some store that has different keyboards with different switches, test out what you like. It's pretty much impossible to know what you will like, everyone is different. If that's really not possible, get  switch tester, they are pretty cheap. If that's not possible also, then at least tell will the board be used mostly for typing, or gaming? Have you tried any of the switches? Maybe at a friend or something. Also, don't get stuck on cherry switches, there are better options, if you are not sure about the switches you want, get the GMMK, it's hotswap, means you can easily change the switches if you want, just pop them in and be done. You could get Kailh Box Brown switches for starters, they are great middle ground and much better option than Cherry's offerings. You could even get 2 sets of different switches and still fit in your budget.
