3700X normal temps / voltages

So I finished my first personal PC today YAY

It has a 3700X and has an idle on desktop of 45ish degrees C and I have seen it pull as much as 1.5V at all stock settings. (My room is a little warm btw it's summer in Australia rn)

Is this normal and will the stock prism cooler be sufficient for gaming? I don't do any professional work atm

Not sure of what V ryzen cpus take but pretty sure 1.5 is quite high, can you share a screenshot of this?

The stock cooler is enough if you don't do long sessions of benchmarking loads for no reason.  45c idle is about where a 3700x sits.  1.5v is a bit high but as long as its not for hours on end it's fine too.  If you're just looking at stuff like HWInfo and looking at "Max" then that's just a spike.  I'd want a better cooler for my own peace of mind but the stock one is good enough for gaming.  I used it for a bit while waiting for my AIO to arrive.

Load temps is what matter my friend.

Of course, and I've done P95 tests with the stock cooler as well.  It has not come close to thermal throttling in an air conditioned room, and I live in Malaysia, right at the equator.  It's summer all year round.

Of course, you use aircon. But @Dizz_Man may not have aircon.

Summer in Australia, I doubt that's the case but of course its a possibility.  We'll see what OP says I guess :D

UPDATE: Played a round or 2 of CoD MW and max temp got to 86C

stock prism cooler, stock paste, no OC

It seems to climb in temps when it spikes to 4.2 or 4.3GHz when opening apps like chrome or something and the fan ramps up hard (based off sound)
