I highly doubt that my RX 580 is fried can someone please test it with 6 pins cable . I used a 8 pins with my card but one of the pin broken recently. this pin was slowly stretched out and my pc crashed a few times on course . I tested my card again with a 6 pin , the fan moved like half a centimetre and stop , black screen . Idk whether it’s just not enough power or my card is fried . thanks in advance

Not sure what exactly you trying to ask, someone to test it how?
If you plugged in 6 pin it’s not getting enough power so I don’t think it’ll start working

but like will it boot up at least to give you a warning ?

When you put one battery inside remote controller for your tv instead of two is it gonna work?? Same scenario in here, if there is not enough power it’ll not work

Technically the slot should provide 75w enough to power up and display a 2D desktop.  Whats the rest of the PC?  I.E. a proprietary mobo that gives only 35w from the PCIe slot might not work in this situation)

EDIT - you could also fix the 8 pin cable, just put the pin back in correctly (unless you broke it)

So you're asking people if a card that requires an 8-pin power connector will work with just 6 pins? And you're asking people to try it, when you believe you damaged your card? Seriously, do you think anyone will attempt? It doesn't have enough power. Plain and simple.

No shit guys , I felt like the damaged 8 pins fried my card , I tried with a 6 pins instead and it won’t boot up . That makes me feel like I fried my card . I just want to make sure if this card could boot up with 6 pins therefore i can test if I fried it with the damaged 8 pins .

I knows that mate but I just want to know if their card would react the same way as mine didso I can make sure that I haven’t damaged my gd card , and later on i’ll get a new psu .

Sounds proprietary like my Dell with a third gen i5 and a Foxconn board.  May only deliver 35w to the slot which isn't enough (I don't think anyhow) to power the GPU enough to display even 2D.  What board do you have?  Also some of those proprietary machines also have only sata connectors for power so double check to ensure you buy the correct adapter for the 8 pin

It worked fine b’fore under 100% load . And it has fox bios which isn’t proprietary . I’ll buy a 2x4 pins to 8 pins really soon

I can tell you a perfectly working GPU (that requires external power) will not work with less than the recommended pins unless the PCI slot itself provides at least enough power for the GPU to respond.
