$280 Laptop

Recently, someone I know purchased this laptop from BestBuy: https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/dell-latitude-e7240-ultrabook-intel-i5-4300u-cpu-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-windows-10-refurbished/13493162

I really liked the machine when I saw it, and I've been considering getting one myself. It is rather expensive for me though. I found one for <$200 on eBay, but it's eBay...

I was wondering if anyone here had any recommendation on what I should do (I know, I know! ~$270 is no enough to get a "decent" laptop) and if there are any other laptops you'd recommend over this one (for the same $280 amount or cheaper).

What is actually supposed to go here? Some people put their specs, others put random comments or remarks about themselves or others, and there are a few who put cryptic statements.

Might look at Costco if you're a member or have one near. This one popped up when I looked: https://www.costco.com/hp-14"-laptop---10th-gen-intel-core-i3---1080p.product.100511171.html

You'll want to avoid the ones with 32GB of eMMC harddrive. They don't have room to update Windows. 128gb NVMe should be good for basic use.

It looks good, but it's $300 (more than $280). Even if I could stretch my budget even further, you're on the U.S. site. So it's close to $400 for me.
