new 2060 and bad monitor issue

so just got a new rtx 2060 and jumped into overwatch and i had some terrible screen tearing and freezing and my frames were capped at 70. Then went to fallen order and the same thing happened terrible screen shuttering and freezing. My monitor is terrible 60hz and 1080p and 5ms. Just asking wether the monitor is capping frames and causing shuttering?

 

monitor: AOC 24B1H @ 60hz 5ms and 1080p

graphics: MSI RTX 2060 dx12 and 6GB of GDDR6

It might be overclocked to 70hz, is it set to that?

Can you post a video please? It will tell 1000 words or more. 

 

Generally screen tearing is hardware related and not good.....

so i tried to get a vid but its to long but loooooooooong story short i just get a ton of screen tearing

If you lower the Gpu clocks does the tearing become less or go away?

 

If so (or even not), I'd RMA the card. The NVidia display drivers are pretty rock solid. Typically if it is a driver issue, the screen will go black or driver crash. Sometimes it will recover itself.

You can also reset the video card driver in W10 by hitting all four of these keys at the same time.

But, I think you'll be RAM'ing that card. I'm sorry.

Have you tried capping to lower fps to see if the tearing stops? 

 

Check if monitor is actually set 60hz and not another value, you can see that on nvidia control panel.
