Mantle Hardware Benchmarking Request

So mantle has rolled around on Battlefield 4 & Star Swarm and we all know LTT is going to eventually benchmark it if they haven't already but before this happens I wanted to put forward a request to Slick & Linus on certain types of hardware to benchmark.

I wanted to see these benchmarked as the APUs will offer an interesting view into the future in terms of their actual value, with big FPS improvements with Mantle on systems running Pentiums and 290Xs seeing the CPU/GPU combo performance would be interesting. I chose the 270 because it's the lowest end R9 and because I own it personally.

If people wanna add other cards just post them and add them to this post, hopefully they'll see this prior to testing.

The 270/x and 280x do not have Mantle support yet ini the current 14.1 Beta driver. So you won't benefit from it yet, but AMD said it's going to be added soon. [beta Patch notes].

I do own a 290x but I dislike Battlefield, so I'm not going to take advantage of it yet. ^^

They do support mantle (else the driver wouldn't work).

However, they aren't optimised in any way for Mantle, so no performance improvement will be noticed.

37 averrage FPS with my old 7850 (super OC lol) on Mantle and my old 945 (4 cores at 3400mhz) 

 

(24 averrage FPS with DX11)
