Hello. I've had something weird happen to my Win 7 copy that I run on my Mac computer via Bootcamp. It's probably nothing, but I thought I'd ask since I've never seen anything like it before. After I downloaded the 'important' updates through the Win 7 updates window, I was prompted to restart the computer. I decided to do it later and forgot about it. I've used the Mac side for a while and when I went back to Windows, the updates started to install themselves like they were supposed to. What's weird is, the updates were halted for a good few minutes at 32%. After a while, the screen went black, Windows restarted itself, then the downloads went to 100% and everything seems to be working. I haven't used my Windows side since, just to be safe. I was wondering if I may or may not have a potential issue. I've never seen the crucial system updates halt and restart during the actual installation on my PC computer. Is this normal or Bootcamp related?

Thanks in advance for your insight! (Please let me know if I posted this in the wrong category, I'm relatively new to the Linus Tech Tips forum.)

This is not really a big deal. The same thing has happened to me multiple times and my PC still works fine. Don't worry about it.

Just to reiterate what others have said, it is normal.  32% seems to be the percentage that windows often pauses when restarting after updates.  I have no idea why that is.  I often see my computers pause for awhile at 32% when restarting after an update.

And yeah, it is okay if you go into OS X instead of into Windows again when restarting the Mac after a windows update.  Windows will know to pick up with the rest of the software updates next time you start it.
