ram space

Hey,

i am using ryzen 5 2400g and my ram is 8 gb but it shows 5.95 gb.

i don't have any gpu and my operating system is windows 10 pro.

my query is that should i really need to free up that space as like i don't play any game in my pc.

basically, i do web browsing and study in pc also i don't have gpu.

so what is your opinion ????

 

another thing is that my hardware reserved memory is 2.1 gb is it really necessary ?

 plz explain this matter also...

Maybe relocating RAM sticks would help... doubt it but maybe woth trying.

The 2400G is an APU, a CPU with a GPU built in. Normally a separate GPU has its own dedicated memory, but the 2400G's GPU does not; so it reserved 2.1GB of your system memory as video memory.

Depending on what you do with the system, this amount might not be needed.

If I remember correctly, you are able to lower this amount either in your UEFI/BIOS or in the Ryzen Master software.

Since you don't have a dedicated GPU, the RAM is shared between the iGPU.
