3700X only if you want to use game capture/streaming with x264 on CPU. 

Otherwise they will both perform almost identically in games

I have a really simple question, is the 3700X worth buying just for gaming, from benchmarks I have seen that it is only 5% faster and it is quite a bit more expensive but I still needed to ask.
Rest of the build is:

5700XT

ASUS B450-F Gaming

16GB DDR4-3200 CL16

750W PSU

SSDs
